Texas Crepe Myrtles in Bloom by Texas Photographer Laurie Pace

Crepes in Bloom

Nothing is better on a hot Texas day when it is over one hundred degrees outside, to take in the beauty of the Crepe Myrtle in full bloom. They come in different colors and at our house on the lake, we had every color there was.  Looking forward to planting my crepe myrtles this fall when the heat breaks.

Trying out my new Canon camera on the flowers at Hermann Park.
Thinking of adding this one to the Behind the Scenes portfolio of the backs of flowers.
I love the soft contrast between the colors and the drops of dew holding to the petals.

Morning sunlight is wonderful for highlighting these intimate moment with flowers.
Although the spider might have moved on, her web is still present
and making an interesting architecture of the flower.
