Trying out my new Canon camera on the flowers at Hermann Park.
Thinking of adding this one to the Behind the Scenes portfolio of the backs of flowers.
I love the soft contrast between the colors and the drops of dew holding to the petals.

Morning sunlight is wonderful for highlighting these intimate moment with flowers.
Although the spider might have moved on, her web is still present
and making an interesting architecture of the flower.

I admit it... I LOVE sunflowers. Especially when back-lit by the morning sun.
Here is a sampling I shot this morning at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.
Yep, Houston has two arboretums and I love going to both of them.

These are taken with my new macro lens and my new camera,
which I am still learning how to use.
Just found out today you can dynamically set the focus by moving the
focus rectangle around on the LCD with your finger! How cool is that!!

Continuing my work at Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens
finding photos for a portfolio competition with my theme of
photographing flowers from the back rather than the front.

Even though it was an overcast day, this magenta beauty just glowed with front lighting.
I loved the contrast between the sharp lines in the petals and the soft contours of the stem.
